Families are Forever

Families Are Forever....
This is a phrase I picked up from a gift my sister-in-law once gave me.  I couldn't have chosen a better family to be born into or to have married into, both sides are supportive and loving.  We are blessed in many ways, but one blessing that we should count every day is our families.  Besides Garett's sister, Shanon, and her family in Idaho, and my nephew, Seth in Arizona, everyone is within a two hour drive.  Thankfully, because of technology, the two that have moved out West seem just as close....just a text or phone call away. I truly feel like I can count on each and every one of them and hope they feel the same way about me.   I love each and every member very much.
Garett and I have been married 10 years and have two handsome, wonderful boys, Braydon, 4, and Rhett, 2.  I cannot remember how we ever filled our days before them.  Everything I do, I do with my fellas in mind.  I love my family more than life itself!

The Hager Side
Garett's side of the family has grown tremendously in the past four years...babies galore!  But that is a wonderful problem to have and I look forward to the years ahead...journeying through parenthood with my brother and sister in laws and watching my boys grow with their cousins...side by side.  I have been a part of this family for a total of fifteen years this month and never once have I felt like an outsider or felt unwelcomed.  Their hearts are made of gold and they are some of the most generous folks I have ever met.  I am proud to have them as in-laws!

The Razor Side
My side of the family is growing as well...slowly and steadily.  We are so grateful for this picture with our grandmother, Dorothy, or as the boys call her, Great Granny Green Beans.  She has been the rock of our family in many ways.  I am also so grateful to have my parents...their health in the past year has been questionable.  Dad continues on his path of remission from Stage 4 Lung Cancer and Mom continues to fight the complications of Diabetes.  Luckily both are doing well and take pride in working around the house and on the farm...enjoying retirement to it's fullest.  I have two wonderful young men in my life that are like brothers, but in reality are my nephews.  Both are learning the ways of the world, Seth is a sophomore at Arizona State University, and Geoffrey has joined the working world and is enjoying being a bachelor.  And last, but not least, my brother, sister and her husband.  Growing up it seemed like I had two sets of parents due to the age difference between us, but now it's wonderful to have their friendship and guidance.

Our best dog, Byron.  He's been with Garett and I for 11 years :)  Byron was diagnosed with lymphoma this past August and we of course decided to give him the best care we possibly could. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy, but unfortunately it isn't doing the job.  Therefore, next week he will begin a new treatment.  Both Garett and I have agreed that we won't go overboard to keep him for our sake alone and if he ever seems like his quality of life is in jeopardy we will stop.  Byron is strong and continues to do what he does best; eat and sleep with the occasional romp.  He is a huge part of our family!
